Shep's Top 5 on 395

We all make the morning commute. For me, the morning commute is critical. I don't know about you, but in most occasions, that 30 minute drive to work could be the difference between whether or not I donkey kick one of my co-workers before 9am. So with that in mind, I like to set the tone for the day on my morning commute with some of my favorite songs.

Pac Div "Rollin'" - This song is actually the inspiration for this Top 5 segment. If there was ONE theme song for my morning commute, it would be this. It's just so funky, it's so California and it puts me in a good mood.

Meek Mill ft. Rick Ross  "I'm a Boss" - When I get a ticket on I-395 for excessive speeding *knocks on wood* it will be because this song was playing. And if I lose my job because I body slammed a student that talked back to me, you can blame this song too. As a high school history teacher, I can't stress how important it is that I come to class with energy and excitement. This song provides me with that energy. Sometimes it's positive energy, sometimes it's negative energy *shrugs*

Fly Union  "Hard Sell"- On the low, Fly Union dropped on the best produced albums of the year. Seriously. It was a very cohesive project that fell on deaf ears. But this song is similar to the Pac Div joint, in that it just puts me into a good mood. It's smooth, it's fun and it lightens me up as I prepare to deal with immature teenage kids for 8 hours of my day.

Eastern Conference Champions  "Sideways Walking" -When I really want to relax I turn to Eastern Conference Champions. For whatever reason, this song is just soothing to me. It calms me. This is a typical "Thursday song". By this point, I've already made it passed the hump and now I'm just trying to make it to Friday. Great song though.

Electric Wire Hustle "Chaser" Funky. Soulful. Eclectic. If you don't have this Electric Wire Hustle album, I advise you do what you need to do to get it. This is hands down one of my favorite albums from last year. If you checked my play count on iTunes you will notice that I have done some serious abuse to "Chaser". I absolutely LOVE this song and everything about it. I keep this on repeat.

What's on your morning commute soundtrack??
