There's no particular rhyme or reason to this weeks Top 5, just five songs that I have been playing recently. A few new tracks and a couple old ones as well. Enjoy.
Dom Kennedy - "Platinum Chanel"
I have to admit that Dom Kennedy is one of my favorite rappers right now. I've been following him since '07 and I've watched him progress and grow as an artist. I call Dom the West Coast Jeezy. He's not gonna wow you with lyrical content but he will make you feel him. This "Platinum Chanel" track is just smooth as shit and Dom is at his best on tracks like these.
Black Milk - "Royal Mega"
I've been in a real Black Milk mood lately. I've always been a big fan but just recently I've found the urge to hear his drums. He has a distinct sound that I never get tired of. This is his collaboration with living legend Jack White.
Casey Veggies - "The Weight of the World Theory"
By now you're probably sick of hearing me mention Casey Veggies. But as I said before, I really like the lil youngin'. I've been playing this song constantly.
The J.B.'s "More Peas"
I recently downloaded the J.B.'s anthology and I can't stop listening to it. Here's one of my favorites. Damn near 14 minutes of that funky stuff!!!
Pink Floyd "Any Colour You Like"
This is definitely one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs. And I owe it all to Lupe Fiasco. Pink Floyd has that spaced out sound that I like. Perfect music for me to zone out to.
