The Sovereign Space recommends: Fall Concert Edition

Looks like we're gonna be really busy this fall. If you're anywhere near the DMV area we recommend you find a way to see these shows. Here's a few of the places you might find us this fall. If you see us in the streets, say what's up!!

The Horrors - Sept. 30th - Black Cat -

I'm still on my indie rock shit. The Horrors are climbing up the ranks as one of my favorites.

Theophilus London - Oct. 3rd - 9:30 Club- 
"Life of a Lover" ft. Blu 


I don't even know how to explain Theophilus' music. But from what I've heard he puts on a hell of a show.

James Blake - Oct. 9th - 9:30 club -  
"Limit To Your Love"


James Blake was here last fall and I missed my chance to see him. This year he's at a much bigger venue, what a difference a year makes.

Phonte and 9th Wonder - Oct. 16 - Black Cat - 
"The Good Fight"

Not much to say about this, other than it is a must see. If you ever been to a Little Brother show then you already know.

The Rosebuds - Oct. 20th - Rock n Roll Hotel -
"Cover Ears"


The Rosebuds are from NC. I love to support Southern artists that aren't the traditional "Southern artist".

Odd Future - Oct. 23rd - 9:30 Club - SWAG.

Little Dragon - Oct. 29th - 9:30 club -
"Seconds (Syd the Kid remix)"


I've lived in the DMV area a little over four years now and I can honestly say that there are two bands that constantly show DC love...that's J*Davey and Little Dragon. I've seen J*Davey more times that I can count but still haven't made it to a Little Dragon show. That's about to change.

Dam-Funk - Oct. 30th - Rock n Roll Hotel -
"Hood Pass Intact"

The rebirth of the funk!!! Don't be surprised if you see Jamaal somewhere in the crowd doing this.

The Throne - Nov. 3rd - Verizon Center - 
"The Joy"

It was recorded in an Australian castle. Now they bring it to DC.

The Cold War Kids - Nov. 8th - 9:30 club -
"Sensitive Kid"


Hands down my favorite band. Period. Can't wait for this show!

The Smokers Club - Nov. 21st - 9:30 club - While we patiently wait for the DC officials to cut through the red tape and sort out this "medicinal" issue, Spitta, Krit and Dza bring their rolling papers to DC. Play this on the way to the show.
