Claflin University Homecoming.

This past weekend, I attended my alma mater's annual Homecoming. If you know anything about HBCUs, you should know that Homecoming is always a big deal, such was the case this weekend. Since moving to the DC area four years ago, then, I was not so interested in attending (probably because 27 years of my life were spent in South Carolina and 7 of those years were spent as an undergrad and graduate student). However, after missing many of my friends and the simplicity of Southern living and ways, I made the trip Friday(November 18) morning(@4:45am), and needless to say, the party began from the time I pulled up on campus, 'til the time I headed back up I-95. It was time well spent telling lies, remembering our wild stories as undergrads, and embracing the changes on our individual paths. Though much of the weekend was spent running wild in the mean streets of "da 'burg", this trip reassured for me the importance of fun and maintaining the morals and ethics life in South Carolina had provided. Lord knows, you need that here in DC.

Here's a summation of my weekend spent with fraternity brothers, friends, and family.
