Documentary: The Mitchell 20

There's a little known common thread linking the 3 Sovereign Space members. It's education. Jamaal, Chris and I have all taught. Being an educator is in our blood. Jamaal taught for 3 years and his mother is still currently teaching back in our hometown in SC. Chris' father is a retired educator and even he spent a year teaching himself. My mother taught for 20 years and now I'm in my 5th year of teaching high school history. My friends still can't believe I'm a teacher and even I say every year will my last. Truth is, I love teaching. It's a profession that is often the source of much scrutiny and praise but no matter how you choose to perceive it, the fact remains that teachers play a major role in building American society. This documentary explores a small elementary school in Phoenix AZ and how the teachers there started holding themselves accountable for their actions. From my standpoint, this looks very motivating. It will open here in DC on Decemeber 9th and you can bet that I will be checking it out.
