Shep's Top 5 - "#ONREPEAT"
It's been a while since I've done a Top 5 segment so I figured I'd give you a glimpse of what's been currently dominating my itunes play count.
Rick Ross ft. Drake and French Montana - Stay Schemin'
I'll admit, Rick Ross' music has become completely predictable and formulaic. I will also openly admit that I don't give a shit that his music has become predictable and formulaic. I still like it. His Rich Forever mixtape is more of the same from Ross but you know how it is "if it ain't broke, don't fix it." Stay Schemin' has become infamous now that Common added a few life threatening bars aim directly at Drake.Either way, even French Montana's tone deaf rapping/singing can't stop me from blasting this song at obnoxious levels.
ScHoolBoy Q ft. A$AP Rocky - Hands On The Wheel
I told you Habits and Contradictions was gonna be a problem. This is one of my favorites from the album. Nothing ground breaking about the lyrics and concept but damn if this beat isn't tough. A ScHoolBoy Q/A$AP Rocky album might not be a bad idea.
Iman Omari - I'll Do Anything For You
I told you, I haven't been able to stop listening to this Energy album since I got it. Glad I finally listened to my cuz's suggestions and picked this up. I listen to this just about every night before bed. Perfect bedtime music.
BJ the Chicago Kid ft. Kendrick Lamar - His Pain
Anytime I see "featuring Kendrick Lamar" I'm all ears. BJ the Chicago Kid, the new Nate Dogg, is finally set to release his next project "Pineapple Now Laters". This will appear on it. I don't know how he does it but BJ's voice makes every collaboration seem so natural. But the true standout here...the chorus.
The White Stripes - Wasting My Time
Authentic Rock. I know the White Stripes are no longer, but I still revisit some of their music and lately this has become a favorite. I put it on my "Night With Jameson" compilation that I suggest you check out.
