Lionel Richie: Tuskegee
My introduction to Lionel Richie came as a young boy as pops played "ZOOM" by The Commodores."I'd like ZOO-fly-Za-wayy". Since the 70's, the once Commodore lead has served as one of musics best frontiersmen working with country music's heavy weights Kenny Rogers. Richie would go on to write "Lady" for Kenny Rogers and also produced the 1980 smash album for him "Share your Love". Whether it's Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You" and or Lionel Richie's work with Alabama on "Deep River Woman", R&B and Country Western music agree in character when comes to story telling, ballads and blues. "Tuskegee" by Lionel Richie brings the top dogs of Country (Willie Nelson, Shania Twain, Jimmy Buffett, Blake Shelton etc.) I can so hear a Monday Night Football, Olympic, or Final Four of any sport theme when I play "You Are" and "Dancing on the Ceiling". The timeless hit "Hello" is my favorite, and also one the best 80's video ever!! The prof. Lionel Richie falling in love with his theatre student who happens to be blind..#SMDH(CLASSIC!!!) I had to cop this, it's a great listen and too many memories from decades ago are still alive i.e. my parents wedding song "Stuck on You". We already know the tour is gonna be crazy. Peace, thanks Mr. Zoom.
