#BMOREDILLA...

Lupus is a disease that affects all members of The Sovereign Space. My mom(and cousin, and an aunt), Shep's mom, and a friend of Chris, all share the unfortunate reality of having the blood disorder. As we all know(or at least those in the realm), James Dewitt Yancey, one of music's famed producers, tragically died from Lupus in 2004. It is because of his music and his battle that has, and will, bring The Sovereign Space out to support this function, and others like it. #BmoreDilla (A Celebration of the Life of J Dilla...in Baltimore, MD), is a monumental event for the crew on many fronts. Some were previously mentioned, and the other is the fact that our attendance to this event last year, in many ways, opened a door of opportunity for us to display our talents, and seek our dreams. So, to be invited again, was a no brainer. As we do for every event we attend, we make efforts to document organic moments among ourselves and our surroundings. "Pre-game" as we call it, creates a forum for us to debate about music(what we do ALL the time), sports, politics, women, and the lessons life has created for us. To say "JDilla Changed My Life", may sound like a cliche....but in essence...he has. He set a standard for all listeners to demand quality production from artists, he's instilled in us to remain diligent in our concerns and awareness of Lupus, and he's enhanced a work ethic within our crew to stay focused, humbled, and to always create. Check out the scenens from that night. #BeALIVE
