The 80’s baby in me reflects on cartoons from Hanna barbera, Marvel and DC Comics. Nothing dawned on me until later years that not a sole afrika bambaataa, zulu nation, native tongue, juice crew animation existed. I mean they were a troop right?..They did larger than life things with emceeing...riiight? Hell ,give them action figures then!!No worries Joseph "Tramp" Daly and Ishmael "Ish" Ford-Bey have come to save and conquer a new day. Their vehicle is Starlight Studios, the comic book is called "The Adventures of the Untouchables"(The untouchables is the show) and the cartoon is "The Sure Shot". The Hip Hop launch party at Kidroboty Nyc(shout of to KRNY)was such a treat and that's no play on words. Everything from toys, candy, cupcakes, more toys and celebs filled both floors hosted by vibe magazine. Jenny-blaze was the early spinner, followed by quest love's medley of memorable sample funk classics. Other stars included black thought, dice raw, kwame, the gangster chronicle collective, adero media and rich medina. I had a blast and actually had the chance to talk to the DMV's own "Ish" so look out for all things coming from Starlight Studios and gangster chronicles.
